what a day!

Last night I went out with my Sistas and I did not get home until 2:00 am! Anyhoo....by the time I got in bed it was close to 4:00 am! I had to be back up at 5:45 to take Maddie and Spencer to meet Francesca Battistelli! She is a Christian music artist and she happens to be Maddie's FAVORITE, so when I heard she was going to be at a local diner (with the Joy fm) I knew that I could not let Madeline down! We got there at 6:00 am....but SHE did not get there until 7:30 am (the Joy fm began broadcasting from there at 6...so I assumed she'd be there then!)....anyhoo, the kids and I ate breakfast and waited for her. Maddie was SO excited!! She got to meet her, get pics with her, get her autograph and hear her sing 2 songs! While we were there, I stopped by the table to register to win Night of joy tickets....as I was filling out the info one of the DJs stuck a mic in my face and announced (LIVE!)..."here we have a Mom...what is you name?". I was taken off guard a bit...I thought they ASKED you before they put you on the air.....but I was not worried about it too much....UNTIL...he put the mic up to Spencer-who then announced for the entire listening audience that he was "AWESOME"! (He has this new thing where he goes around saying " I am awesome!") The Dj asked Maddie "Is that right...is your brother awesome?" She said "uhhhhhhhh......most of the time!".

After we left there I had to get the kids to VBS, pick up Finn and run several errands. Then it was back to VBS to pick the kids up, drop Spencer at a friend's house, come home feed Finn, go back to pick Spencer up................. . The whole day was crazy-but it was a really good day!

After supper, we hooked up the Wii and all played games together...it was so much fun! I am having such a blast with the Wii fit!! Running races, doing yoga, hula hooping (now THAT was a sight....ME.....with my back all screwed together trying to shake my "stuff"!). Now......it is time for me to get some rest!!! I wanted to share some pics from our day today! (BTW...I am gonna have to proof read this tomorrow...I can only imagine how badly I butchered the English language...as tired as I am!)

A day at the beach....cheaper than therapy! :)

Yesterday I took the kids to the beach. We spent the entire day swimming, sunbathing, building sandcastles, collecting shells, jumping waves......... . The beach was so beautiful! The sand literally felt like baby powder, the water was perfectly clear, the waves, that were crashing against the shore, captured every worry and washed it into the sea....(at least until we packed up to go home.....they found their way back to the shore in just enough time to go back home with me!). I find such peace and relaxation while I am at the beach...especially a really great beach-like the one we went to yesterday. The kids had a blast! I am so glad that they enjoy it as much as I do!! After hours on the beach, they did not want to go home! We are going to make it a habit to get there more often! I will post some snapshots, from our day at the beach, later! I am on my laptop right now and I uploaded the pics on my desktop. Hope you are all enjoying summertime as much as I am!

Brrrrrr......

It is freezing here in Florida!! All you "Yankees"-quit laughing at us...lol! This morning the yard was iced over and the cars were covered in ice! Brett took Bubba to school early, for tutoring, and he said that the windshield washer fluid ran out while he was driving and the window iced over and he could not see! He has to pull over to scrape off the ice! I told the girls how I used to love to slide across the grass while it was iced over, so we went into our neighbor's yard (since our yard barely HAS grass right now!) and they slid across the lawn! Such fun...it is the little things in life that really excite me!!

New year's eve

Every year, the kids and I stay up and watch the "ball drop" together. We watch movies or play games....it has become a tradition in the McCann household. Brett always has to drive for the limo company on NYE....so he misses out :( Tonight, we have borrowed 3 movies from the library and we will also be watching "Benji"-a movie Spencer got from the Christian book store! Poor Spencer always has to sit through the movies that the girls and I like! Tonight's playlist includes "Sense and sensibility"; "Pride and Prejudice"; possibly "The secret garden" (we will check it out-I heard that there was some questionable things in the movie, but in reading the description-I do not see it.). I am SO glad that the girls love all the old movies like I do!! We will also be making cookies for our "party".

Anyhoo.......sales! The sales are amazing right now! Yesterday, at Target, I got bags of "willy wonka" candy for .02 cents each! I also got bags of Hersey's candy and Nestle candy for .20 cents a bag! (They have 75% off of their Christmas candy....and I had coupons on top of that!) We do NOT need candy...what was "Santa" THINKING.....filling up our stockings with so much!? Since we do not need candy, we are going to be using it as incentives in Children's church. Brett and I are going to be heading up the children's church at the new church-so we are stocking up on all kinds of goodies for the "Bible buck store"!

Well, I wish you all a happy and prosperous new year! BE SAFE!

Coupon Class!

We have a date set for the coupon class! It is going to be Jan 13th at 7:00 pm. I sent out evites, but if you are a friend, family member or friend of a friend/family member....you are invited to come! Email me and I will give you the details! Instead of charging for the class, I am asking each person to bring at least one personal item (such as shampoo, soap...) or a non perishable food item-to donate to one of the families that we try to help out!

Today, Brett and I went out for a walk.....the two younger kids were caroling with the children's church and Brooke was selling Christmas trees with the youth group! Once we got home, I started working on organizing my coupon box...going through the coupons to take out the expired ones....and utilizing a brand new technique that I learned...I will tell you all about it in the class!

Brett got called into work tonight (thank God...it was dead all day!)-so I took the kids to the Christmas parade! At first we wound up in a really bad spot...there were a lot of people smoking (yuck!) and the people in the parade were ignoring our side of the street! Because Spencer has asthma-we decided to leave, before he got sick. Well, while we were walking back to our car we found a PERFECT spot...only a few people...no one even near us, and the kids caught tons of beads and candy! Now that we are home from that, we are going to watch "Funny Lady" together (the sequel to "funny girl"-which we watched recently). Hope you are all enjoying your weekend!

LOVE this! they make the inmates clean up after the police horses!

Bubba, being a gentleman, is pumping my gas. So sweet!

Sponge docks

Today I took the kids to the Sponge docks and on a "nature cruise". I got 4 tickets, about 2 years ago, from a silent auction at the school-and we just never took the time to go until today! We picked up my "2nd son" from school and took him along with us....the kids had a really great time! It sure beat being home all day-with the kids out of school! Anyhoo-I wanted to share the pics from our adventure! My boys "gave out" and 1/2 way through it! They were both exhausted!
